Service Data for the Isuzu MU Wizard

While doing research for my Isuzu MU Wizard (UCS69), I found that there was not that much information freely available online. It was also very difficult to find the owners' manual. In the end, I downloaded a PDF copy of a scanned manual which was shared on www.planetisuzoo.com. If you are new to Isuzu vehicles, then this is best place to start. 

Anyway, I've decided to share the basic service data from the booklet here in the hopes that it will make your life easier when doing service for your Isuzu. 

This is basically for the 4JG2 engine model.

My ‘New’ Used Isuzu MU Wizard

They say people chose vehicles according to their personality so my choice to buy a banged up 1996 Isuzu MU Wizard (UCS69GW) could have been a reflection of my need to fix/repair things. The Isuzu MU Wizard I bought. I had actually been eyeing a Toyota Hilux Surf (KZN130) on a Japanese used car website for a while. However, I was unable to get the money in time before it was taken. The power windows don’t work, the tyres are bold, the back seat doors don’t work, the parking/emergency brake cables are broken, the front seats are stuck, the interior is dirty, the CV axle needs replacing and a whole bunch of other issues. Still here, but...

HELLO!  Its been a while since I last posted an updated and I'm sure you are wondering what's been happening. Well, life is happening and I don't seem to have enough time to blog, but there have been some positive new, and some bad too! You cant have it either way. The good news first! The good news is that I managed to find shock absorbers for the MU Wizard. It took me a while but I found them in Papua New Guinea's second largest city, Lae.  We were driving around after a meeting when I spotted a Motorist Discount Center (MDC) and asked the driver to stop. I got the suspension parts for around K280.  Now they are standard shock absorbers for both front and rear. The models for my vehicle were not available but the salesman offered parts that were meant for the Isuzu Bighorn and TR (Faster) which actually share the same chassis.  The only things left are the suspension bushings and coil springs.    I haven't done the installation yet....

Welcome to 2022 - What Have We Been Up To

It has been a while since I posted and here is an update on what we have been doing lately. Firstly, the Isuzu MU Wizard has been grounded. There is a leak in the head gasket which is forcing pressure into the cooling system. This has resulted in radiator bursting.  After repairing the radiator for a second time, I decided to ground the vehicle. However, we have also purchased a Toyota Hilux LN106 double cab.  The truck is a base model and does not come with the extra features you might find like air conditioning or cup holders...but it is one of the best light trucks ever. Anyway, back to the MU Wizard, we are hoping to put some work into the truck this year and hopefully get her back on the road. This will include replacing the head gaskets ( or we might just do a rebuild ) and getting its four wheel axles (front axles) back.  I've also set my eyes on putting sound deadener and getting the air condition control unit fixed.  Its a lot of work, but we already have a ...
